So I have been trying to figure out what is the right (or wrong) way to start blogging and I have to say, I am actually having a hard time coming up with a blog post.
Most people would say the best way to start blogging is to just do it and I agree, but when it’s your very first ever blog post, you want it to be perfect, it’s an introduction of your blog to the world.
First Impressions Count (or do they??).
You know what they say;
“First impressions are lasting impressions”.
It is a given in life that (most) people tend to make snap judgements of you based on your first impressions and I definitely have been psyching myself up to get my first blog post just right.
Even though I know what I want to blog about and what I want my blog to be, I just could not start blogging so for inspiration, I decided to look at some of the first blog posts from some of my favourite bloggers.
To say I was surprised would be an understatement. Perfection is definitely overrated.
They all had different layouts, different content, some are personal, some are not, some are text heavy and some are picture heavy, and even some of the pictures are blurry and just poor quality.
Bottom line is, stop worrying so much about getting it right the first time that it stops you from doing anything at all. There is always room for improvement. Start from where you are to get to where you need to be.
Oh look at that: First blog post.
What was your first blog post about??
